Company Coming?

If you have company coming over to your house for a visit or perhaps staying over, make sure you schedule your carpet cleaning  or upholstered furniture cleaning early in the day . Even though our cleaning process assures that your carpets are dry in a couple of hours, (not Days !) your upholstered pieces can take a bit longer to dry. However, there are some situations when you may want to schedule to have us come in several days before your company arrives.  For example: perhaps you have a pet odor smell in the living room or guest bedroom(s), you will want to have this treated and the smell gone before company arrives.  Our PURT (pet urine removal  treatment) needs time to work (about 24 or less), and as it is working it “off gasses”, plus you need the extra time in case the smell is not absolutely gone and the area needs to be retreated.   Thanks for letting us help you with your needs !

Owning a small family business means the “wife” that’s me, always available to answer the phone, but sometimes even I get a break.  That’s when I call on my “assistant” who goes by the name of Hobbes to help.  Here is a picture of her helping me write up an order for one of our customers.   She is also very helpful at any pet odor problems you may have !

Although carpet cleaning is our primary business, we also specialize in pet odor removal, upholstery and area rug/oriental rug cleaning, water damage restoration, and stain removal.  Got a stubborn coffee stain?  Someone “draw” on the family room carpet? Can of paint get knocked over?  Nail polish ? Mascara ? Or maybe the cable guy tracked in some mud and grease?  No problem !  Identifying the stain, knowing the correct products to get rid of it and taking our time – that’s why we are so good at getting rid of stains !

How Much Dirt is in Your Oriental Rug?

Did you know that a typical 9 x12 foot area rug can hold up to 87 Pounds of dry soil before even looking dirty?  “Wow” imagine how heavy it is, and what’s all that dirt doing to my rug?  As surface dirt breaks down, it becomes smaller and finer and “falls” down into the carpet fibers, where it can “saw” away at your fine oriental rug, and overtime your quality oriental rug becomes worn and dirty looking.  ChemDry’s green cleaning can safely, and gently clean and extract the dirt from your fine area rugs. Dog or cat accidents creating an unwelcoming smell ? You’ve tried products from the pet store that only seem to mask it for a while, and then it comes back.  Give up ? Our P.U.R.T (pet urine removal treatment) is guaranteed to get rid of the smell.  When your pet pees, the urine gravitates down into the carpet fibers and if there is enough down into the pad.  Once the urine dries, it turns into microscopic salts and crystalizes.  Any change in humidity in the house, and the smell can become stronger.  Properly applied our PURT product penetrates into the urinated areas, and “deactivates” the urine crystals, and the smell is gone. There are basically 2 kinds of carpet cleaning, “steam” cleaning and “dry” cleaning.  “Steam” cleaning uses chemicals, or surfactants (surfactants interact with the surface of a liquid to change its property, example: soap, shaving cream, fabric softerner), high volume of water, high pressure application (the carpet pad can get wet), a wand to clean the carpet (looks like a regular vacuum tool), and a high ph cleaning solution.  “Dry” cleaning on the otherhand uses minimal water, the cleaning solution can be natural (like carbonated mineral water or “split water molecules”) or it can be powders or tiny “sponges”, or chemicals, can be low or high ph, and can also use a similar cleaning tool as steam cleaners or a powerhead base.  Both methods sometimes use fans to help dry the carpet.

ChemDry (Chemistry Dry) does not use chemicals or surfactants, no powders or sponges, no high pressure application, 1/10 the water, low ph cleaning solution, no fans, no wand.  We clean with carbonated mineral water, low ph, low water quantity, low pressure cleaning, and the powerhead base (the powerhead provides over 600 cleaning passes per minute vs the 40 passes a steam cleaner can get).
