Cat Peeing in your House?

Cats will urinate inside the home for several reasons; they may have a urinary tract infection, or perhaps you’ve moved the furniture around or got new furniture.  You have had visitors in the home. You are  planning on moving or you have just moved into a new place, or perhaps you have been away travelling. So how can I get him to stop? Did you know that when your cat rubs his head on you, he’s marking you? When you see him rubbing his head on other items, he’s doing the same thing–claiming everything in his territory as his by marking things with his pheromones. You can use this to your advantage. Rub your kitty gently with a soft cloth between his eye and his ear. Then wipe the place he’s been spraying with this cloth (be sure to clean the area first with an enzymatic cleaner). Repeat this daily for several weeks.

You can also put a scratching post in the area he’s been marking. When he uses the post, he’ll be putting scent from his paws in the area, instead of from his urine. Also try placing small bowls of his cat food in those areas where he has peed.

In any stressful situation, be sure to give your feline friend lots of extra love and attention.

Cats are creatures of comfort, they don’t like change.  Any kind of change is stressful for them, and can cause them to start peeing inside your home.

Urine in your Carpets ? Did You Know…..

Urine smells can last for years in your carpets.  Why?  When an animal has an accident the urine penetrates into the carpet fibers and sometimes the pad underneath the carpet.  When the urine dries it leaves behind urine cyrstals.  So even if you have blotted up alot of the urine there is still these urine crystals left in the carpet.  Any change in humdity and temperature in the house, or people walking back and forth across that area re-activates that smell.  Did you know that male pets will urinate around the perimeter of the room and sometimes on the walls and baseboard.  Female pets will pee in open areas of the room. Both animals will revisit those same areas to pee.  So walk your pets at set times of the day, crate them at night, block of access to those rooms they go in, keep the litter box clean, and when all else fails, call us and we will get rid of that nasty smell !

Benefits of using a Locally Owned Carpet Cleaning Service

Did you know that when you call a typical carpet cleaning company, they will subcontract the work out.  Meaning the individual coming to clean is not an employee of the company.  Wouldn’t you prefer using a locally owned company with their own employees? Locally owned and in particular family owned means they are familiar with the homes in your neighborhood.  because they don’t advertise on tv or radio they are more “serious” about providing the customer with a great job, they “care” more because they see you as a “neighbor”.  they own this business because they love what they do, and enjoy giving the customer outstanding service.  Service, quality, integrity, that’s what you get with locally owned/family run businesses. marty testimonials
